  1. Just wanted to give an update to those following along. I'm using Hadoop-2.7.3 and the jars are in very different locations now. I included into my project all the jars in ~/hadoop-2.7.3/share/hadoop/common/, ~/hadoop-2.7.3/share/hadoop/common/lib/, ~/hadoop-2.7.3/share/mapreduce/, and ~/hadoop-2.7.3/share/yarn/. Also note that users of Eclipse Neon.1 and later will need at least OpenJDK 8. The WordCount.java code can be taken from the tutorial here: https://hadoop.apache.org/docs/stable/hadoop-mapreduce-client/hadoop-mapreduce-client-core/MapReduceTutorial.html
